What is a Kantha?

Hailing from the eastern reaches of rural India and its surrounds, Kantha is a form of traditional embroidery where pre-loved cotton saris are layered and hand-sewn with a distinctive running stitch by local women to form vibrant patchwork pieces.

Each hand-crafted Kantha creation benefits from eco-friendly fabric recycling at its point of origin, perfectly imperfect block-print designs, and, most importantly, a story all of its own.

Its uniquely versatile look and feel is loved by everyone, which is why we just can’t keep our Kantha crush to ourselves any longer – it’s time to invite some new friends to this relationship…
