Product Spotlight: Get to Know Our new Sari Cotton Collection
Lightweight and crafted from recycled soft double-layer muslin saris, we’ve been dreaming up another new kind of textile story at Renew and it’s finally here. Our Sari Cotton Collection takes everything we love about preloved Indian textiles and gives them a fresh, airy twist. These pieces are lighter, smoother and more cohesive than traditional kantha fabrics and make an exciting new addition to your Renew wardrobes.
Three new styles are launching: the Sari Luna Dress, the fully reversible Sari Boiler Suit and the fully reversible Sari Ruana. The Luna Dress is crafted from two beautifully matched sari fabrics for a cohesive, flowing look, while the Boiler Suit and Ruana are made from a single sari for each layer so you can enjoy two complementary prints in one reversible piece.
What makes this collection different from kantha?
Kantha pieces are made by stitching two saris together with rows of visible running stitches. Because kantha requires this structure, long saris are typically cut in half and paired with another sari. That’s why kantha garments often blend two or more completely different prints.
This new sari range is crafted differently. The double-layered muslin doesn't need to be stitched, which means we can use one or two continuous saris to create the garment.

A softer, lighter textile
Muslin saris are known for their softness and breathability. The fabric has a gentle structure that drapes effortlessly without the weight of kantha’s stitched layers. These pieces feel cool, airy and easy to wear, perfect for everyday comfort and warmer weather.
Different finishes on reversible garments
Because the fabric isn't as thick as kantha, the two reversible garments in this collection have a more seamless finish without our regular French seams. You’re getting two pieces in one without any compromise to the fit or finish!

An open robe that transforms any outfit. Sweet muslin prints, reversible and perfect for breezy days when you want colour without the thicker fabric of our traditional Ruanas! This style is sure to be a hit to pair with almost any of our other styles.
Why we made this collection
We adore our kantha classics, but we also wanted to explore the beauty of original sari textiles in a way that preserves the full print. This collection lets us honour the integrity of each recycled sari while creating garments that feel cohesive, breathable and versatile.
Every piece still celebrates upcycled textiles and slow fashion, just with a softer, lighter personality.
